For the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Department for Culture and Communication and the Superintendent of Cultural Heritage of Rome, have seen the opening of a new museum dedicated the 1849 Roman Republic.
The project aims to create a place dedicated to this important historical event in Porta San Pancrazio, which, besides being an evocative place for its history and location, will become a privileged standpoint of the historical and monumental Janiculum (Busts of famous men; Monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi; Monument to Anita, Ossuary of Fallen Garibaldini, Faro) and a connection to the other sites dedicated to the history of the Risorgimento in Rome (Napoleonic Museum, Museo di Roma in Palazzo Braschi; Central Museum of the Risorgimento, Museo di Roma in Trastevere).
